This is new site dedicated to provide clear in quick information for those wishing to migrate to Australia.
Australia is a continent, and as such, there is a range of climates particularly comparing the North around Darwin to the South around Melbourne. The North is pretty humid, even cities like Cairnes on the North East coast can be pretty uncomfortable for those unaccustomed to the hot, wet moisture laden air. Melbourne (South coast) on the other hand has a more temperate climate, which is much easier to get used to for those coming from the cool climtae of the UK. You can even get some snow around Canberra in winter, there is even a couple of ski resorts, but most serious skiers tend to head for the slopes of New Zealand.
Historically, most Brits have tended to settle in Western Australia around the capital Perth or over on the other side in Queensland, around Brisbane. Sydney remains the most popular city to migrate to overall, with most migrants aiming for the capital or the second largest city Melbourne.
Australia's seasons are opposite to the UK. When Brits are celebrating Christmas, Australians will be on the beach in the height of summer. Timewise, there is approximately a 12 hour difference between the UK and Australia which can make communication with friends and relatives 10,000 miles away, a bit more difficult. Thankfully, telephone call charges between the two countries are ridiculously cheap. In fact, with some plans, it's cheaper to call the UK from Australia than it is to call Perth from Sydney.
